The old inline six had bad head gaskets and ran poorly. What better excuse for an LS Swap?
We began with sourcing a nice, low mileage, LS-based drivetrain from a totaled Chevy Suburban. After the engine and transmission were sourced, we went to work disassembling the Land Cruiser.
After the engine and transmission were set into place, we installed an adapter kit from Advanced Adapters, which allowed us to use the factory Toyota Transfer Case, along with the factory Toyota axles. In the end, the drivetrain swap turned out great, and the truck was much faster than it would have been from the factory!
